Cleaning in aviation

Helicopter cleaning

A helicopter essentially consists of 4 sections which are completely maintained / repaired, also separately, every 250 flying hours:

  • The hydraulic system
  • The mechanical system
  • The electronic system
  • The fuselage
Helicopter cleaning

Authorized methods up to now: cold water as well as 2 approved alkaline cleaning agents – cleaning by hand (larger surfaces partially with steam cleaner with cold water).

The hydraulic system: soiled with oils, greases and sand. Very complex placements with many lines and heavily accessible.

  • The electronic system: here was only cleaned in the area of the wires
  • The mechanical system: soiled with oils and sand
  • The fuselage: soiled with everything that can hit on a helicopter.
  • Cleaning with a temperature of 65° C.

Short declaration: The cleaned helicopters are 40 year old transport helicopters. L=18m H=4m B=4m (without rotor) At the moment there still exist 23 pieces. All of them are used in Afghanistan (flight there and back in a Tupolev).

Cleaning aircraft transmission parts

Technical bases

Turbine parts of GE must be cleaned

  • Single parts made of titanium
  • Diameter of the holes are from 0,2mm up to 0,7mm

Application / Requirement

  • Cleaning with alkaline cleaning agent
  • Removal of kerosene and the test liquid from the holes
  • Cleaning may not cause any damages (value of the parts:between 1.000-40.000$!!)
  • Cleaning must be 100 percent

Previous technology

  • In the washing bay with turnable cage until the desired result is obtained.
Cleaning aircraft transmission parts, titanium, finely perforated, fine perforation, turbine parts
Titanium turbine part, partially cleaned, on a grid of a device 1000 SR

Advantages of the ph-cleantec technology

  • Better cleaning results compared with the washing bay
  • Time saving by manual cleaning
  • The operator immediately recognizes the results and critical areas
  • Less damages to the components
Cleaning aircraft tanks

Application / Requirement

Due to the formation of water condensation with cerosine, bacteria and germs grow in the tank over time at all types of aircraft, which can destroy the structure of the airframe skin.

  • Gentle cleaning procedure
  • Works without aggressive chemicals
  • Works with a long and slim lance, also for cleaning at different to access places
  • No splash back effects and no damage

Further applications at the aircraft

  • Engine
  • Undercarriages
  • Brakes
  • Exterior cleaning, particularly also in the winter
